La Quinta Sets Three Guinness World Records

DALLAS—Throwing in the towel is not an option for La Quinta Inns and Suites, who successfully achieved its first Guinness World Records achievement in 2012 for the largest Human Mattress Dominoes. This year, on March 14, the hotel company was at it again setting three Guinness World Records titles by creating the longest Human Towel Chain with 1,113 participants, the longest High-Five Chain with 1,110 participants, and the largest Towel Mosaic that formed a 26,390-square-foot U.S. flag. All three records were achieved in 90 minutes by attendees who were in Hawaii for the company’s annual conference. The records were made official by Guinness World Records adjudicator Alex Angert, who was present at the Waikoloa Bowl during the event.

The more than 2,500 red, white and blue towels used during the event were provided by La Quinta’s partner, Standard Textile, Inc. and donated afterward to Fisher House – Tripler AMC in Honolulu. Fisher House Foundation is best known for a network of comfort homes where military and veterans’ families can stay at no cost while a loved one is receiving treatment. These homes are located at major military and VA medical centers nationwide, close to the medical center or hospital they serve.
