Kimpton Assumes Management of Kimpton Zamora

SAN FRANCISCO—Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants has announced it has been awarded the management contract for The Kimpton Hotel Zamora, an award-winning luxury boutique property in St. Pete Beach on Florida’s west coast.

Featuring white-washed, Mediterranean architecture, and a striking Romanesque façade, the hotel has 72 guestrooms incorporating 22 two-bedroom suites with balconies overlooking the Intracoastal Waterway and Gulf of Mexico. In addition to the upscale design, the property attracts crowds with a rooftop lounge and a Mediterranean restaurant.

Located on the bay side of St. Pete Beach, The Kimpton Hotel Zamora caters primarily to a leisure travel market seeking an intimate, design-inspired experience. The property features 9,000 square feet of event space, including a ballroom and several additional private rooms. The adjacent restaurant, Castile, marries traditional Mediterranean cuisine with a dash of coastal inspiration from Florida Executive Chef Louis Scaramuzzi. For those seeking a quintessential St. Pete Beach sunset, 360 Rooftop offers cocktails, bar bites, and music, along with panoramic views of the Gulf of Mexico, Intracoastal Waterway, and downtown. The rooftop is also a venue for weddings and other special events.

“The Kimpton Hotel Zamora’s distinct design and prized location presented the perfect opportunity for us to enter Florida’s west coast and expand even further into the leisure and resort sector,” said Kimpton CEO Mike DeFrino.

Owned by Zamora Hospitality Group, The Kimpton Hotel Zamora will be Kimpton’s sixth hotel in the Sunshine State, joining properties in Vero Beach, Palm Beach, South Beach, and Miami.

“We are thrilled to have Kimpton assume the management of The Kimpton Hotel Zamora given the company’s proven track record operating profitable and popular hotels in Florida, ranging from the sleek downtown Epic in Miami, to the Surfcomber in South Beach and the great escape of the Vero Beach Hotel & Spa. This makes them a natural fit for our one-of-a-kind property,” said Henry Suarez, managing partner and owner of Zamora Hospitality Group.

“More importantly, the Kimpton brand is perfectly aligned with our design vision, our belief in providing locally authentic experiences for guests, and our culinary aspirations for the property,” said Dr. Devanand Mangar, partner and co-owner of Zamora Hospitality Group. “Together, these factors made for an ideal partnership.”
