IHG to launch Holiday Inn Resort in Japan

TOKYO—IHG ANA Hotels Group Japan and Aoshima Resort Co. announced a new franchise partnership that will see the Miyazaki Aoshima Palmbeach Hotel rebranded to ANA Holiday Inn Resort Miyazaki. The hotel commences operation on July 16 with the re-branding planned for completion by October 1.

ANA Holiday Inn Resort Miyazaki features 214 rooms, six restaurants, a total of seven function rooms and other resort facilities including hot springs as well as an indoor pool. The hotel is also close to a local theme park (Kodomono Kuni), golf courses including the Miyazaki Country Club, and other leisure sites in the Aoshima area.

Naoki Toyama, President of Aoshima Resort Co., Ltd. said that they were honoured to partner with Japan’s largest international hotel company and bring the Holiday Inn Resort brand to Miyazaki. He expects the resort will attract inbound guests from across Asia and beyond in the future.

Clarence Tan, Chief Executive Officer, IHG ANA Hotels Group Japan said: “We are delighted to announce the expansion of the Holiday Inn Resort brand to Miyazaki, an area that has been popular with domestic travellers for decades. ANA Holiday Inn Resort Miyazaki will join other family focused Holiday Inn Resorts in locations including Bali, Maldives and Thailand.”

ANA Holiday Inn Resort Miyazaki is the first Holiday Inn Resort in Japan. IHG ANA Hotels Group Japan is a joint venture between IHG and Japan’s major airline company, ANA that operates a total of 30 hotels in 24 cities across Japan.
