LONDON—IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group) announced the signing of its third Holiday Inn hotel in Madrid, the Holiday Inn Madrid Calle Alcala.
The hotel will open in April 2013, following a conversion from a Velada hotel and will operate under a franchise agreement with Rentas Hoteleras Socimi S.A. The 261 room property will feature 17 meeting rooms, as well as a restaurant and bar area.
IHG’s director of development for Spain and Portugal, Hylko Versteeg, said the signing of the Holiday Inn Madrid Calle Alcala built Holiday Inn’s presence throughout Spain, and strengthened the brand’s presence in Madrid.
Owner and managing director Velada Hoteles Alvaro Ventero said he was pleased to have signed the agreement with IHG.
“Holiday Inn is an iconic hotel brand known throughout the world, and has always represented quality and comfort. We’relooking forward to showing guests at the Holiday Inn Madrid Calle Alcala the very best of the Holiday Inn experience. “
