Iconic New Yorker Hotel Joins Wyndham Brand

PARSIPPANY, N.J.—Wyndham Hotel Group welcomes New York City’s renowned New Yorker Hotel to the company’s upper-upscale Wyndham Hotels and Resorts brand. With 1,083 guestrooms, the Wyndham New Yorker Hotel becomes the largest property in the brand’s portfolio of 170 hotels worldwide.

The addition of Wyndham New Yorker Hotel, located in the heart of Midtown Manhattan, is a significant milestone in Wyndham Hotel Group’s strategy to fly the Wyndham flag in key cities around the world. In the past 18 months, the brand’s footprint has expanded to city-center locations in major markets including Boston, San Diego, and Philadelphia in the U.S.; Istanbul; Berlin and Salzburg, Austria, in Europe; and Cusco, Peru, and Guayaquil, Ecuador, in Latin America, among others.

Owned by New Yorker Hotel Management Company Inc., the 40-story hotel becomes the fourth Wyndham hotel in New York City’s Manhattan Borough, joining Wyndham Midtown 45, Wyndham Garden Chinatown, and Wyndham Garden Manhattan Chelsea West. After previously undergoing over $100 million in renovations, a new multi-million dollar renovation is currently underway at the historic hotel to upgrade all guestrooms, public spaces, and meeting facilities.

“The New Yorker Hotel is an iconic mainstay that is synonymous with one of the greatest cities in the world,” said Keith Pierce, executive vice president of brand operations for Wyndham Hotel Group. “This key landmark and recipient of TripAdvisor’s Certificate of Excellence in 2013 puts business and leisure travelers in the heart of New York City’s excitement and greatly strengthens the Wyndham brand’s profile in this important market.”
