NEW ORLEANS—HRI Lodging’s (HRIL) leadership announced on Oct. 16 that Michael Coolidge has been hired as chief investment officer. Coolidge joins HRIL from CSM Corporation, where he previously served as senior vice president of real estate, acquisitions, and lodging development.
“Michael brings a level of expertise and depth of knowledge that we were seeking to help HRIL achieve its aggressive growth plans. At CSM, he was responsible for all acquisition, disposition, and development activities for the CSM Lodging Portfolio. His enormous talents and solid relationships within the lodging industry will help us expand our hotel developments, acquisitions, and third-party management activities,” said Gary Gutierrez, president of HRI Lodging.
Coolidge has been involved in real estate for the past 20 years. Prior to CSM, he served as senior vice president of real estate and asset management at Watermark Capital Partners. Before that, he was vice president of real estate and development at Global Hyatt where he was directly responsible for all new full service development and management opportunities for the western half of the United States and Canada. Coolidge also had a 12 year stint as senior vice president of development and project management at Sage Hospitality Resources.
