Hotel Karlan San Diego Completes Renovation

SAN DIEGO—Hotel Karlan San Diego, a DoubleTree by Hilton, announced today the completion of its total rebrand and renovation of the 174-room, resort style property located in the scenic foothills of the exclusive community of Carmel Highlands just 15 miles from the heart of San Diego.

The $12 million renovation includes remodeled guestrooms, a new dining concept and gastropub, completely upgraded state-of-the-art spa with fitness center, and upgraded pool with outdoor cabanas. To further enhance the guest experience, the hotel is offering Karlan’s Pups, an extensive pet welcome program featuring several on-site areas where dogs can play, like Central Bark and dog-friendly dining options, including hamburger and salmon plates. Karlan’s Pups overnight experience includes everything from dog treats, leash and bed to a pup room service menu.

Hotel Karlan also features six distinct meeting spaces, totaling more than 14,000 square feet, as well as pre-function space and an event lawn for weddings, musical performances and other social events. Additionally, the hotel features a 4,000 square-foot ballroom with vaulted ceilings and offers a full-service logistical support team, on-site restaurant/catering and high-speed internet access.

Under the helm of Executive Chef Josh Phillips, the hotel’s new elevated casual restaurant, Asado Grill, features an array of expertly-prepared classic dishes and interesting takes on local favorites sure to please the appetite of hotel guests and locals alike. The hotel’s new gastropub, Black Horse Pub, serves a variety of locally brewed craft beers, handcrafted cocktails, wine and spirits, as well as small bites. Those enjoying the hotel’s dining venues can also take in the scenery and San Diego’s optimal year-round weather while sitting on the hotel’s newly-renovated patios featuring trellises and fire pits.

Hotel Karlan also offers access to a state-of-the-art fitness center and spa, The Spa at Hotel Karlan, which includes a full length lap pool, tennis courts, steam rooms, sauna, massage and treatment rooms, as well as personal trainers and group classes.
