Hotel Irvine Reinvents Itself in Southern California

IRVINE, Calif.—The Hotel Irvine Jamboree Center, an independent lifestyle hotel, has opened its doors in Southern California. .

Drawing on the design and operations excellence of Irvine Company Resort Properties, Hotel Irvine will cater to the needs, individuality and aspirations of today’s diverse business, social, and leisure clientele.

“We are excited to be reinventing an Irvine landmark with a contemporary hotel experience that speaks to today’s business and social needs in a setting that takes advantage of all that our Southern California lifestyle has to offer,” said Ralph Grippo, president of Irvine Company Resort Properties. “Whether you’re visiting with us on business, for a meeting or private event, celebrating a special occasion or while on vacation, your experience at Hotel Irvine will reflect your individuality and unique interests.”

Along with a new brand identity, a new marketing campaign will bring the Hotel Irvine brand to life through new visual language, a reimagined website, an emotive online and print advertising campaign and guest initiatives throughout the hotel. Starting this month, guests can enjoy participation in iPrefer, a loyalty program rewarding travelers with points on qualifying stays at Hotel Irvine and other participating independent hotels. iPrefer points can be redeemable toward eligible room bookings and upgrades, complimentary internet, food and beverage offerings, and priority early check-in and late check-outs.

Hotel Irvine’s lifestyle experience will also come alive through a targeted reinvestment program focused on redesigning guestrooms that reflect lifestyle comforts and functionality, refreshing all banquet and meeting spaces—including the hotel’s 14,700-square-foot ballroom—as well as the lobby, lounge, cafe, restaurant and outdoor social areas. New color palettes, inviting and spacious indoor / outdoor areas, and contemporary designs will be part of the renovation.

Upon completion, guests will experience a contemporary first floor flow that blends the lobby with interactive, communal spaces designed for conducting business and socializing. The hotel’s outdoor area will also be transformed into a social center for events or relaxation centered around a pool terrace with outdoor fireplace. 6ix Park Grill, the hotel’s restaurant offering reinvented California cuisine, is being seamlessly integrated with the pool and an outdoor fireplace to take advantage of the area’s year-round climate.

As a long-term investor in Irvine, the Irvine Company is seeking to enhance Hotel Irvine’s role as a beacon for the community by serving as a social center for charity galas, weddings and family, religious, and cultural celebrations.

“We have been part of this community since the beginning,” Grippo said. “The Irvine Company is well known for its long-term commitment to Irvine, the quality of its properties and the high level of exceptional service. Our guests at Hotel Irvine can expect nothing less.”

General Manager J.D. Shafer, a 25-year hotelier known for his community involvement and career highlights at leading hotel brands, is leading operations and playing a key role in Hotel Irvine’s rebranding and reinvestment initiatives.

“This is a rare opportunity to reinvent a landmark hotel with a singular focus on the individuality of the diverse clientele who’ll make this their home away from home escape,” Shafer said. “At the same time, we have the luxury of an experienced team that has made this hotel what it is and will help make it even better.”

The 536-room property which was built in 1985 was formerly the Hyatt Regency Irvine. The hotel now operates as part of Irvine Company Resort Properties’ lifestyle properties collection, which also includes The Resort at Pelican Hill, Island Hotel, Oak Creek Golf Club and marinas in Newport Beach and Northern California.
