Chase Park Plaza Hotel Sold To Hospitality Properties Trust

NEW YORK–Cushman & Wakefield’s Global Hospitality Group announced that it represented Behringer Harvard Opportunity REIT I in the sale of the Chase Park Plaza Hotel in St. Louis to Hospitality Properties Trust. The Chase Park Plaza Hotel will be operated by Sonesta International Hotels Corp and will become known as the Chase Park Plaza Royal Sonesta Hotel. Executive Managing Director Tom McConnell and Senior Managing Director Jared Kelso led the Cushman & Wakefield team that executed the transaction.

Overlooking Forest Park in the Central West End of St. Louis, the Chase Park Plaza has been the preferred address for travelers seeking luxury accommodations for over 90 years. This classic hotel has also been the prime venue for innumerable social events over the decades, and is permanently woven into the history of the St. Louis community. In addition to its 338 oversized guestrooms and suites, the property offers 51 furnished executive apartments, a wide array of food and beverage outlets, and expansive retail/commercial space.

“It was a pleasure working with the Behringer Harvard team in the marketing of the Chase Park Plaza,” according to Tom McConnell of Cushman & Wakefield. “It’s not often that one has the opportunity to work on such a historically significant and iconic hotel property–I know that Sonesta feels exactly the same and will be a great brand and operator for the Chase going forward.”
