Hilton Palacio del Rio Completes Phase Two of $34 Million Renovation

SAN ANTONIO, Texas—Hilton Palacio del Rio has announced the completion of its latest transformation—the second phase of its $34 million makeover which includes updates to the hotels meeting and event spaces.

“It is exciting to offer an enhanced meeting experience for our group visitors,” said Brian Getman, director of sales and marketing, Hilton Palacio del Rio, in an announcement. “It only adds to the appeal of our iconic hotel and the new stylish décor, technology and service enhancements will exceed the expectations of today’s meeting planner.”

The $7 million update to the hotel’s 27,000 square feet of meeting and event space will be completed September 17. Floor-to-ceiling windows were installed in the Salon del Rey ballroom to allow maximum natural light. Technology upgrades include a digital signage system, virtual concierge, new PORT Technology elevator system, and sound and lighting improvements. Local art and new furnishings bring a consistency throughout all of the public spaces in the hotel.

Part of Hilton Palacio del Rio’s $34 million extensive transformation includes the newly completed guestroom renovation. All 485 guest rooms in the 21-story hotel include upgrades in technology, high-speed wireless internet, connectivity centers, and 37″ plasma HD televisions.
