Hilton Garden Inn Launches Instagram Travel Guide

MCLEAN, Va.—Hilton Garden Inn today announced the launch of its “HGI Travel Guide.” Accessible on Instagram at @HiltonGardenInn beginning today, the guide is the first ever travel handbook created using the popular app’s photo map feature. The “HGI Travel Guide” invites consumers to capture and share images of their favorite “go to” spots—anything from the best local bar to the most romantic spot for live jazz–using the @HiltonGardenInn handle.

To celebrate the launch, @HiltonGardenInn Instagram followers who suggest a point of interest and post photos of their favorite locations tagged with #HGITravelGuide will be entered in the HGI Travel Guide Contest. A panel of judges will narrow down the 50 most liked photos and select two fans to win a trip to one of Hilton Garden Inn’s new properties in Hawaii’s Kauai or Waikiki.

“Instagram is the ultimate go-to for inspiration, especially when it comes to travel,” said Judy Christa-Cathey, vice president, focused service brand marketing and Hilton Garden Inn. “The HGI Travel Guide puts travel and local experts in your pocket, and maps out hidden and interesting destinations around Hilton Garden Inn properties so you know where to go before you hit the road. It doesn’t get any easier.”

Hilton Garden Inn has also partnered with top destination experts to curate a selection of images designed to help travelers feel like a local when visiting 20 of the most popular U.S. destinations where Hilton Garden Inn hotels are located.

The guide’s continuously updated content offers an insider’s view to each of the cities’ most exciting hidden gems, attractions, landmarks, and dining options. Whether they are looking for a cool bar with the best cocktails in town, a mountain to climb with an unforgettable view, a 5-star restaurant dining experience or just the city’s best burger, the “HGI Travel Guide” will lead users there. While the list will continue to expand, current featured destinations include: New York, Chicago, Atlanta, Houston, Los Angeles, Dallas, Denver, Tampa Bay, Baltimore, Nashville, Orlando, Seattle, Miami/Fort Lauderdale, Washington D.C., Boston, Charlotte, Austin, San Francisco, New Orleans, and San Diego.

Additionally, the guide will make it easier to book a stay with a direct booking link located on HGITravelGuide.com, offering access to the best rates available.
