Gap, Virgin Hotels Join Forces for In-Room Shopping Experience

Gap has announced a partnership with Virgin Hotels that will provide guests the option to have the latest Gap styles delivered straight to their hotel room. By leveraging Gap’s Reserve in Store technology, guests of Virgin Hotels Chicago can shop on gap.com to reserve the styles they want and within a few hours try and purchase the items they reserved — all within the privacy of their chamber.

“We’re excited to partner with Virgin Hotels to bring the latest Gap styles and essentials directly to travelers’ hotel rooms,” said Tricia Nichols, global lead of consumer engagement and partnerships for Gap. “Traveling can be full of unexpected surprises — weather, lost baggage or you just want something new. Through this partnership, our goal is to provide shoppers convenience, ease and on-trend fashions, all through the touch of a button.”

Here’s how Gap’s Reserve in Store program works: customers select their item online and click “Find It Now” to see options from nearby Gap stores. From there, they can reserve their size and color by clicking “Reserve in Store” and, within an hour, get an email (or a text, if they choose) confirming the item has been placed on hold at the store they’ve selected — along with pick up instructions. Through the Virgin Hotels partnership, the process takes on a new twist. Guests access gap.com via Lucy, the hotel’s mobile app or by visiting virginhotels.com, and then selecting the styles through the Reserve in Store button, and the hotel takes it from there. Guests never have to leave their room, instead finding the items they reserved already tucked away in their closet.

“We’re thrilled to be a part of Gap’s first-ever Reserve in Store program for travelers. Virgin Hotels aims to bring innovation and change to the hotel industry, all while enhancing and easing the guest’s stay. Having your trip’s wardrobe delivered straight to your chamber, all by clicking a button, is a service we know our guests will love,” said Doug Carrillo, vice president sales and marketing, Virgin Hotels.

To kick off the partnership, Gap and Virgin Hotels will come together to feature exclusive looks by Gap’s styld.by editors, with Virgin Hotels Chicago serving as the backdrop to the photos. A special offer to redeem at Gap stores and online will be given to all members of the hotel’s preferences program, The Know.
