G6 Hospitality Partners with FreedomPay

DALLAS, Texas—G6 Hospitality, known for its economy lodging brands, Motel 6 and Studio 6 in the U.S. and Canada, has entered into a partnership with FreedomPay, a provider of commerce solutions, to implement payment security across G6 Hospitality’s network of more than 1,350 properties.

Recognized as North America’s first Payment Card Industry-validated (PCI) solution, FreedomPay’s Commerce Platform offers a layered of payment security approach, including point-to-point encryption (P2PE) with EMV and tokenization capabilities to ensure optimal protection for guest cardholder data.

“At G6 Hospitality, we are dedicated to providing our guests with unmatched hospitality and quality service and that begins with their payment security,” said Julie Arrowsmith, executive vice president of finance at G6 Hospitality. “By partnering with FreedomPay to offer the highest level of data protection for visitors at any of our properties nationwide, we are reinforcing that commitment and providing the payment security assurance needed to guarantee an enjoyable stay.”

The platform is fully integrated with HotelKey and other property management systems (PMS), enabling hotel operators to rapidly trigger Europay, Mastercard, and Visa-enabled Ingenico payment devices with PCI-validated P2PE and tokenization. Through this multi-tiered process, credit card data is fully encrypted prior to entering the PMS, ensuring that guests’ information is never exposed in network environments, while also minimizing the scope of PCI compliance for G6 Hospitality properties. As a result, the solution is proven to minimize the risk of credit card fraud, card issuer charge-backs and data breaches.
