Full-Service Airport Hotels Gain Popularity

    A new breed of airport hotels is emerging as demand for rooms and conference space increases and discerning travelers have higher expectations, Bloomberg reports. Upscale, full-service airport hotels are planned in Minneapolis-St. Paul, New York City, and Atlanta, and a 500-room Westin is opening Nov. 19 at Denver International Airport, the article states. Room demand at airport locations has increased from an average of 55 million room nights in 2010 to 65 million today, according to STR Average room rates at airport locations have also increased.
