Four Seasons Hotel Shenzhen Opens

The Four Seasons Hotel Shenzhen, the company’s eighth hotel in China, has officially opened its doors across the street from the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center in the growing city.

“Shenzhen is a fascinating city, changing by the minute,” says General Manager Arthur WC Ho. “International business travellers know it well, but increasingly, it is emerging as one of the country’s most exciting leisure destinations.”

Architects Urabanus and interior designers Hirsch Bedner and Associates (HBA) have created a contemporary, light-filled tower with a 6th level reception that overlooks green spaces and water courtyards with panoramic views of the city. Check in is at each guest’s convenience – curbside, at the reception desk or in-room.

Each of 266 rooms and suites are feature technological conveniences and thoughtful comforts such a pillow menu. Mini iPads present the guest directory, and rooms also offer Nespresso machines, multiple international electrical outlets at bedside and throughout the space, and large flat screen televisions with VGA connection for laptops.

Colourful contemporary art and traditional Chinese motifs of good fortune are in every room, including hand-painted headboards of Auspicious Clouds, a theme repeated in the carpeting. Some rooms also offer soaking baths.

The hotel features multiple restaurants including FOO, a pan-Asian dining destination; Zhuo Yue Zuan, a traditional Cantonese kitchen; and Yi Bar and Lounge, a lounge environment for cocktails.

Four Seasons Hotel Shenzhen also offers meeting and event space such as the Four Seasons Ballroom seating up to 360 guests plus two private pre-function spaces, and the more intimate Peony Ballroom for up to 180 seated guests. Other amenities at the hotel include a 24-hour fitness center, a sauna, steam room, indoor pool, outdoor pool, and whirlpool.
