Former Burger King CEO Launches Technology Platform for Hotel Industry

A new technology platform from global investment firm TPG and technology investment firm Instawares Holding Company is now available to help hoteliers solve managerial challenges, increase operational efficiency, and improve profitability.

Red Book Connect is a cloud-based system designed for the restaurant, hospitality, and retail industries. The platform combines technology tools Red Book Solutions, MacromatiX, My Recruiting Center, HotSchedules, and SchooX, as well as the financial benefits of TPG under a single umbrella. The company is led by John Chidsey, former CEO and chairman of Burger King.

“According to the North American Guest Satisfaction Index, guest satisfaction with the hotel industry is at an all-time low,” says Chidsey. “With the increased demand for added services, managers and staff are overloaded, torn in too many directions, and left with limited time to focus on the guest. Red Book Connect has brought together the top category leaders of management tools that will deliver on this critical need, by providing a full suite of online solutions in employee recruiting, shift management, operations, training, communication, task management and more.”

Red Book Connect will allow hotels to manage their people, business resources, and operations, consolidating these traditionally disparate tasks into an integrated platform. My Recruiting Center supports human by providing online job applications, I-9 verification, applicant tracking, and online job posting. MacroMatiX delivers financial reporting, inventory management, and the ability to manage hotel loyalty programs. Hot Schedules is an employee scheduling tool that also forecasts labor costs. And SchooX is a learning management system that provides online corporate training, compliance support, and education. The system will also include a new digital format of Red Book Solutions’ popular tool, The Manager’s Red Book, in 2013.

The new technology platform can be customized to fit different hotel companies or brand flags. Chidsey explains that hotels can pick and choose the tools they need. The system is also designed to accommodate one location or be used across multiple locations, making it available to hotels and hotel companies of all sizes.

“Our goal is to present solutions that provide leading technology at a price point that is setting the competitive edge,” says Chidsey. “The vision in bringing together these products is to offer a cost-effect solution that will help improve the financial health and fuel the growth of the lodging industry, and allow hotels to achieve unprecedented levels of guest service and satisfaction.”
