Expedia Ends ‘Dimming’ Practice

    Expedia has done away with “dimming,” the act of keeping certain hotels from prominent positions or removing media to pursuade shoppers into choosing a different property. Critics of the practice said Expedia was punishing hotels that would not offer it the best rates. Expedia now says that the approach is being scrapped because it was not improving the customer experience, though it was meant to identify low customer value. To read more, click here.
