Employment Numbers Continue to Rise in June

    The steady pace of job growth the United States has experienced the last few years continued in June, with job gains of 223,000, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

    Unemployment has dipped by .2 percent down to 5.3 percent, and the number of unemployed individuals declined by 375,000.

    ADP reports that franchise employment has risen by 28,800, the highest it has been since February. Within the sector, accommodations jobs increased by 1,000.

    According to Mark Zandi, chief economist at Moody’s Analytics, these numbers mean hope is on the horizon for the unemployed.

    “If the current pace of job growth is sustained, which I think is likely, that means we will be back to full employment by this time next year,” Zandi said during an ADP conference call.
