Embassy Suites Opens in Portland’s Tech Hub

HILLSBORO, Ore. and MCLEAN, Va.—Embassy Suites Hotels has opened its newest property, the Embassy Suites Portland/Hillsboro. Centrally located in Portland’s tech hub, Silicon Forest, the 165 all-suite hotel is owned by Hillsboro Hotel Partners II, developed by Thackeray Garn Company out of Salt Lake City, and managed by Western States Lodging and Management.

“Our hotel is one of only two hotels that have opened in our fast-growing area in the last 10 years,” said John Thackeray, principal, Thackeray Garn Company. “There is a tremendous need for a full-service hotel that offers ample meeting space along with modern tech capabilities to accommodate guests to the area.”

Embassy Suites Portland/Hillsboro offers a flexible meeting and conference space totaling 4,800 square feet spread across six meeting rooms; three of which can be opened up to create a 3,000-square-foot ballroom. For smaller sized meetings, guests have the option of selecting one of two board rooms, each able to host 14-16 people or one 780-square-foot flexible-space meeting room.

The restaurant and lounge, Sprigs, features progressive regional cuisine, local wines from the Willamette Valley, local microbrews, and specialty cocktails. The property also offers a heated indoor saline pool, a fitness center, and a business center.

The hotel is 11 miles from Portland’s arts and culture scene and recreational activities. Within a mile of the hotel is the MAX Light Rail line, which can be used to reach nearby Beaverton and downtown Portland. The hotel is within minutes of Hillsboro Airport and many of the area’s major companies including IBM, Intel, Nike, Symantec, Wells Fargo, Solar World, and Yahoo. Also nearby is Oregon Wine Country.
