The Ritz-Carlton Opens First Hotel in Israel

CHEVY CHASE, Md.—The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company unveiled its first hotel in Israel, with the official opening of The Ritz-Carlton, Herzliya. “It is a privilege to bring The Ritz-Carlton legendary service to Israel at this beautiful seafront location in the greater Tel Aviv area,” said Herve Humler, president and chief operations officer, The Ritz-Carlton. “The Ritz-Carlton service philosophy will be brought to life by a committed team of Israeli Ladies and Gentlemen at our 85th hotel.” The Ritz-Carlton, Herzliya is a contemporary resort situated above the Marina with accommodations including 115 rooms and 82 suites and residences. Contemporary interiors inspired by the colours of the Mediterranean coastline combine with the sea views to create a relaxed ambience. A collection of artwork throughout the hotel is centered on an original video-art piece by Ayal Landseman, specially commissioned for the lobby area. Celebrated Israeli Chef Yonathan Roshfeld has partnered with the hotel to create the kosher Samuel Herbert Restaurant at the hotel. SLS Hotel Heading to Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA—SBE, a hospitality, lifestyle and real estate development company, and Dranoff Properties, a developer and owner of luxury apartments and condominiums, announced its plan to construct the SLS International Hotel and Residences at the high profile intersection of Broad and Spruce Streets in Center City Philadelphia. Hyatt Announces Plans for Hyatt Regency Sentul City

CHICAGO—Hyatt Hotels Corporation announced that a Hyatt affiliate has entered into a management agreement with PT Eka Ilalang Suryadinamika for a Hyatt Regency hotel in Sentul City, Indonesia. Hyatt Regency Sentul City will be the sixth Hyatt-branded hotel in Indonesia. “We are delighted to enhance our brand presence in Indonesia, and Sentul City’s growth over the past few years has been impressive,” said Ratnesh Verma, senior vice president, real estate and development, Asia Pacific for Hyatt Hotels and Resorts. “The first Hyatt hotel opened in the Indonesian market more than 30 years ago, and we are very excited to further build on Hyatt’s strong brand equity and excellent portfolio of hotels in the country.” Hyatt Regency Sentul City will be located less than 25 miles south of Jakarta on the outskirts of the satellite city of Bogor and will feature an outdoor pool, a spa, and meeting space. CALGARY, Alberta—Hampton Hotels announced the official opening of its newest property, the 135-room Hampton Inn – Calgary-Airport North, located adjacent to the Calgary International Airport. “Hampton Inn by Hilton Calgary Airport North offers contemporary accommodations for value-conscious guests, and will be a welcome sight for business and leisure travelers alike,” says Marcel Berube, general manager, Hampton Inn by Hilton Calgary Airport North. “Finding accommodations close to the Calgary Airport has been a challenge and, with a brand new runway and new terminal scheduled to open in a year, our timing couldn’t be better.” The hotel is the first of three Hilton Worldwide properties to be built as part of the newly developed Calgary Airport Hotels and Conference Center (CAHCC). Tokyo Marriott Hotel Opens

TOKYO—Marriott International announced the opening of the Tokyo Marriott Hotel on a hilltop address known locally as Gotenyama. This represents the company’s 12th hotel in Japan, and the third under its flagship Marriott Hotels brand, which comprises 500 properties in nearly 60 countries. The 249-room hotel enables direct easy access to the Tokaido bullet train as well as Haneda Airport and the Yamanote Line circling central Tokyo. A rebranding of the former Gotenyama Garden Hotel Laforet Tokyo, the extensively refurbished and renovated property is operated by Mori Trust Hotels and Resorts, which entered into a management agreement with Marriott International in February. Commenting at the opening ceremony, Miwako Date, president of Mori Trust Hotels & Resorts, said: “Tokyo Marriott Hotel is the fourth internationally branded hotel our group has launched in the past eight years.
