Hotel Indigo Opens First Hotel in Cleveland

ATLANTA—InterContinental Hotels Group’s (IHG) Hotel Indigo brand has opened its first hotel in Cleveland, bringing guests together with the city’s distinct Beachwood neighborhood. The Hotel Indigo Cleveland-Beachwood hotel celebrates the Cleveland Metroparks system, a diverse network of green spaces dedicated to conservation, education, and recreation and fondly referred to by locals as the “Emerald Necklace.” “We like to think of this neighborhood’s green spaces as ‘naturally priceless’,” said Mary Winslow, director, Americas brand management, Hotel Indigo. “The extensive collection of parks, trails, and waterways beg to be explored and discovered, and we look forward to connecting our guests to this vibrant and unique neighborhood.” The Beachwood neighborhood story is brought to life within the hotel through murals of the local green spaces that make up the “Emerald Necklace” and the unique experiences they offer, including flowing waterfalls, colorful patchwork hot air balloons, and polo horses in action. Nature-inspired design accents feature wood, grass, and pebbles. Meeting rooms, named the Hunter Room and Jumper Room, and equestrian-inspired staff uniforms are a playful nod to the Hunter Jumper Classic competition held at the Cleveland Metroparks Polo Field. Best Western Opens New 4 Star Plus Hotel in Australia

Best Western has welcomed the 4-star Best Western Plus Kalbarri Edge Resort in Western Australia (WA) to the group, providing a much needed accommodation option for tourists travelling between Geraldton, Carnarvon and other regional towns along Western Australia’s Coral Coast. Built in 2009, the 72-room Best Western Plus Kalbarri Edge Resort is the 20th property in Australia to pass Best Western’s Quality Assurance program to carry the brand’s midscale Best Western Plus hotel type. “Best Western Plus has really taken off in North America and Asia, and we’re on our way to replicating the same success here because we’re very selective about the properties we allow to qualify as a PLUS hotel,” Best Western Australasia’s Chief Executive, Rob Anderson said. With over 4,000 hotels in 100 countries, Best Western International introduced the three hotel types in 2011 to help distinguish its midscale and upscale properties. “Each time we add a new hotel we’re welcoming only the highest quality accommodation to our group, with Best Western Plus Kalbarri Edge Resort being the newest addition to 12 properties already linking WA’s metropolitan and regional towns.” Best Western Plus Kalbarri Edge Resort’s 72 rooms range from fully self-contained two bedroom serviced apartments to ...
