Wyndham Worldwide Continues its Commitment to Global Diversity

7/20/2012 | The Scene
Wyndham Worldwide recognizes that a diverse workplace can lead to increased productivity and a global advantage. In fact, diversity is among the top five strategic focuses at the hotel company.

Wyndham has been named among the Top 25 Noteworthy Companies by DiversityInc, ranked in the top 10 for supplier diversity by DiversityInc, among the Top 50 Companies by LATINA Style, among the top 100 companies by Working Mother magazine, and among the top 50 companies by the National Association of Female Executives.

“As one of the world’s largest hospitality companies, we aim for the people within our company to be as diverse as the services we provide around the world,” said Mary Falvey, executive vice president and chief human resources officer, in an announcement. “Diversity in talent, thought, and experience keep Wyndham Worldwide an exceptional travel partner, a successful company, and a great place to work.”

As part of its ongoing commitment to diversity and inclusion, this week, Wyndham Worldwide associates were able to participate in diversity and inclusion educational offerings, cultural awareness activities including music and dance demonstrations, philanthropic events and presentations by Associate Business Groups (ABGs), which are Wyndham Worldwide-sponsored associate groups that share common interests and promote professional development and inclusion throughout the company.

Wyndham will also be furthering its commitment to diversity in the hotel industry by sponsoring the opening reception at Lodging's upcoming
HR & Diversity Summit. The three day summit, presented in conjunction with Boston University's School of Hospitality Administration, is a forum for CEOs, senior-level human resources executives, recruitment specialists, diversity officers, franchise development executives, supply and procurement executives, and representatives from hospitality education schools. Held in Boston from Sept. 5-7, the event will feature frank discussions with leading experts on building hotel industry ownership and leadership among women, African American, Hispanic American, and Asian American entrepreneurs and investors.
