Benchmark Appoints Director of F&B for Hotel Contessa

MontalvoTHE WOODLANDS (HOUSTON), Texas—Benchmark Hospitality International has named Adam Montalvo director of food and beverage for Hotel Contessa. Les Utley, general manager for the property, a Benchmark Hotel located on the Riverwalk in San Antonio, Texas, made the announcement.

“It is a pleasure to welcome Adam to Benchmark Hospitality at Hotel Contessa,” Utley said. “He comes to us with a great deal of restaurant management, operations, and training experience, which will be vital in running an effective food and beverage program. We are thrilled he is part of our team.”

Prior to joining Hotel Contessa, Montalvo was the director of food and beverage for the Hotel Valencia Riverwalk, a boutique hotel also located on San Antonio’s legendary Riverwalk. Montalvo has previously held similar management positions for other properties in San Antonio as well as in South Beach and Miami Beach, Fla.

Montalvo is currently working on his bachelor’s degree in hospitality management from Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas. He resides in San Antonio.
