Hotel Equities Names Joe Reardon VP of Business Development

Atlanta-based Hotel Equities (HE) recently named Joe Reardon to the position of vice president of business development. He oversees the development team, negotiates management contracts, and evaluates the financial feasibility of the firm’s acquisition opportunities. His responsibilities include utilizing the existing portfolio of 50+ hotel assets as a platform for rapid growth with current and potential owners. “Joe has a proven track record as a highly-skilled and capable leader who understands both hospitality and real estate and knows how to put together a deal,” said HE Chief Operating Officer Brad Rahinsky. “We look forward to his expertise in leading our portfolio growth.” Reardon brings more than 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry to his new post. He came to Hotel Equities from Alliance Hospitality where he served as executive vice president of sales and marketing and oversaw sales and marketing, along with business development, for the firm’s extensive portfolio. Extended Stay America Donates Stays to Cancer Society

CHARLOTTE, N.C.—Extended Stay America and the American Cancer Society announced an unprecedented multi-year partnership through which Extended Stay America will provide 20,000 overnight stays to cancer patients who must travel far from home to receive life-saving treatment. Extended Stay America will offer 10,000 rooms free of charge to patients plus an additional 10,000 stays at a special rate of $12 per night, providing patients an affordable, comfortable place to stay so they can focus on getting well. W Hotels to Debut Alpine Design in Switzerland

VERBIER, Switzerland—W Hotels Worldwide, part of Starwood Hotels and Resorts will make its debut in Switzerland on in December with the opening of W Verbier and The Residences at W Verbier. Owned by Les Trois Rocs, the W brand’s first alpine and ski retreat is situated at the foot of the slopes beside the Médran gondola. Featuring four traditional wooden chalet-style buildings, each connected by a contemporary glass atrium, the retreat will offer travelers and Verbier enthusiasts immediate ski-in, ski-out access. Award-winning Dutch design agency Concrete Architectural Associates has created a design inspired by the dynamic carve of the ski through the snow.
