Stockholm—ASSA ABLOY Hospitality, a security technology provider for the hospitality industry, recently announced the integration of its keyless entry solution with OpenKey, a developer of hotel entry mobile applications. ASSA ABLOY Hospitality and OpenKey have implemented mobile key-based guest access at multiple properties across the globe, including The Cow, Victoria Inn Winnipeg Hotel, The Lodge at Kiln Creek, The Astro Motel, Pier House, The Ashton, Brookstreet Hotel, Secrets Silversands Riviera Cancun, and Avista Resort.
Operating through secure Seos technology, ASSA ABLOY Hospitality Mobile Access delivers a digitally encrypted key directly to a guest’s smart device, which can be accessed through OpenKey’s mobile application at certain properties. Instead of employing the traditional front desk check-in process, guests have the option to check in remotely and enter their room immediately upon arrival by swiping their personal smartphone against a mobile access-compatible lock.
“As an innovator of hotel security solutions, we are dedicated to aligning with companies that share our vision of a future where hotels utilize cutting-edge technologies to increase guest and staff security,” says Eric Thomsen, general manager software & credentials at ASSA ABLOY Hospitality. “OpenKey has made waves in the industry by supplying hoteliers with a user-friendly solution to allow guests to enter their room through a mobile application, evolving mobile access into the new standard in hotel access.”
“We knew when we started OpenKey that we wanted to work with well established and highly respected companies, the best of the best,” says TJ Person, CEO of OpenKey. “Through this collaboration with ASSA ABLOY Hospitality, two of the largest innovators in the world of mobile key technology joined forces to engage guests and ensure their security with an advanced and convenient solution.”
The OpenKey guest-facing application is fully customized to each specific property implementing ASSA ABLOY Hospitality Mobile Access, allowing hotels to offer their guests unique experiences based on their specific brand preferences and onsite offerings.
