America’s Best Franchising Acquires Jameson Inn Brand

America’s Best Franchising has purchased the Jameson Inn hotel brand and will start offering franchise opportunities for the first time in the brand’s history. Since 2006, the brand has been owned by Argila Jameson Brand LLC, which is located in the Atlanta suburb of Smyrna.

Jameson Inn becomes the fifth upper economy brand in the America’s Best Franchising portfolio, joining America’s Best Inns & Suites, Budgetel Inns & Suites, Country Hearth Inns & Suites, and Parkside Hotels & Resorts. The company also operates the upscale 3 Palms brand for independent hotels.

“Jameson is an award-winning name that is known for its dependability and its quality by both the hospitality industry and the traveling public — and that means strong expansion potential beyond its current roots in the southeastern United States,” said Doug Collins, chairman and CEO of Atlanta-based America’s Best Franchising. “We expect to grow the brand significantly by launching franchise sales throughout the United States and around the world. Especially in the current uneven and uncertain economy, travelers want value-based accommodations and owners want value-added investments—Jameson delivers on both counts.”

The America’s Best Franchising acquisition includes the Jameson brand name plus 12 hotel properties in Georgia, North Carolina, Virginia, and Illinois. The company now operates almost 300 properties, primarily in the United States but also in China, Canada, India, Nigeria, and Belize.

Earlier this year, approximately 100 Jameson hotels were foreclosed and the creditor is in the process of converting them to other brands.
