Aloft to Debut in College Station, Texas

STAMFORD, Conn.—Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide announced that its growing Aloft brand will make its debut in College Station, Texas in October 2015. Owned by Lodging America, the new-build hotel will feature 102 loft-like rooms, 1,500 square feet of flexible meeting space, accessible technology, and a social atmosphere.

“Aloft College Station will bring new energy to the hotel market in this bustling college town,” said Brian McGuinness, senior vice president, specialty select brands for Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide. “The fast-growing brand has attracted a loyal following among guests who are drawn to the urban design aesthetic and lively social scene that Aloft delivers.”

Aloft College Station will be located close to both Texas A&M and Blinn College, as well as the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum, Post Oak Mall, Grand Station Entertainment Center and the restaurants, bars and music venues in the popular Northgate district. The new Aloft will also be convenient to the Business Center at College Station, home to numerous technology and telecommunications companies.

“We look forward to introducing the Aloft brand to College Station as we continue to aggressively grow the design led and affordable brand in markets across North America,” said Allison Reid, senior vice president of North American Development for Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide. “Aloft recently reached the 75th hotel milestone, fueled by its phenomenal success with owners and developers seeking a compelling, global brand that resonates with savvy travelers.”
