AEG Announces $500 Million Expansion of Marriott at L.A. Live

In an effort to meet the growing lodging needs of downtown Los Angeles, AEG will expand the Marriott Los Angeles at L.A. Live by 755 rooms. A new high-rise, connected to the Marriott and attached Ritz-Carlton by a bridge over Olympic Boulevard, will bring the hotel’s grand total to 1,756 rooms.

According to hospitality industry consultant Bruce Baltin of PKF Consulting, the $500 million expansion is necessary to accommodate the city’s rising status as an urban destination, convention hotspot, and quick getaway location for locals. AEG also hopes to attract overnight visitors attending events at L.A. Live or Staples Center.

If approved by the city, the project may begin as early as late 2015, with room availability beginning in 2018. For more information on the expansion, click here.
