Waterford Hotel Group to Manage the Andover Inn
8/6/2012
ANDOVER, Mass.—Phillips Academy announced the appointment of Waterford Hotel Group to operate the historic Andover Inn. Waterford will assume management of both the 30-room hotel and Samuel’s, the Inn’s signature restaurant, beginning Sept. 1.
Built in 1930 and renovated most recently in 2010, the Andover Inn is located about 25 miles north of Boston on the 500-acre campus of Phillips Academy, one of the oldest private secondary schools in the United States.
“Waterford Hotel Group has an exceptional reputation in the hospitality services industry, and we are eager to begin this new partnership,” said Steve Carter, Phillips Academy chief operating and financial officer, in an announcement. “Their portfolio includes management of properties ranging from larger full-service hotels to smaller inns, as well as properties associated with academic institutions, including Gettysburg College and Amherst College. We were most impressed by their team’s broad and deep experience and track record of success.”
The Andover Inn offers 30 guestrooms, three private function rooms, Samuel’s restaurant, and gardens for outdoor seasonal events. The property is a member of the National Register of Historic Inns.
