The Beverly Hills Hotel Announces Centennial-Year Restoration

 As it celebrates 100 years, Dorchester Collection's Beverly Hills Hotel is heralding the future with a restoration led by Tihany Design and set to take place in phased stages between now and 2015.
The hotel lobby, Polo Lounge, guest rooms and suites, along with the property's pool and cabanas will all be part of the project. T hotel's signature red-carpet entrance, C.W. Stockwell-designed banana leaf wallpaper, green and white stripes, and pink exterior will remain constants. Project work will be conducted in various phases over the next three years so as not to impact the operation and inconvenience guests.
Leading restoration efforts for The Beverly Hills Hotel will be designer Adam Tihany. The first stage of Tihany's is already underway and focuses on the hotel's lobby, where new lighting, carpets and a banana-leaf center medallion. The lobby is scheduled to be complete by July 2012, followed by a gradual enhancement of guest rooms in the hotel's main building.
All guest rooms are expected to be refreshed by early 2014, with 20 to 35 rooms slated to undergo restoration at any one time. Completed accommodations will feature wall mounted B&O TVs, illuminated mirrors with built-in TVs, and updated fixtures in a polished stainless steel finish in the bathrooms.
This fall, the hotel's Polo Lounge will undergo its own renovation. Then in early 2013, the pool cabanas and Cabana Café will be upgraded in keeping with the overall design theme.
"The Beverly Hills Hotel will forever be a timeless fixture in the community," said Edward A. Mady, regional director, West Coast, USA and general manager, in an announcement. "We look forward to implementing a restoration which will lovingly highlight the hotel's ties to the spirit and history of Beverly Hills.
