Steigenberger Hotel Group Entering Amsterdam

 FRANKFURT, Germany— The Frankfurt-based Steigenberger Hotel Group will be adding Amsterdam to its list of locations. At the beginning of September, the company takes over a Four Star Superior Hotel boasting 440 rooms at Schiphol International Airport.
Steigenberger will be acquiring representation at the former Dorint Hotel Amsterdam-Airport.
The Four Star Superior Hotel at Schiphol, the fourth largest airport in Europe, will have 440 rooms including ten luxury suites, one executive suite, three restaurants, a coffee and wine Lounge, a Sports and Media Bar, an 800 square meter gym and health spa area featuring a pool, an interior courtyard with a garden and terrace, and comprehensive conferencing facilities.
"The Steigenberger Airport Hotel Amsterdam represents a strategic expansion of our presence at important transportation hubs in Europe", explains Matthias Heck, CFO of Steigenberger Hotels AG, in an announcement.
The lessor of the property, the Kongress Hotel at Amsterdam Airport GmbH & Co. KG, is an investment company which belongs to the E&P Real Estate GmbH & Co. KG, based in Cologne.
The Steigenberger Airport Hotel Amsterdam now joins the Steigenberger Kurhaus Hotel in Den Haag-Scheveningen to become the second Steigenberger Hotel Group establishment in the Netherlands. Further hotels are at the planning stage.
