Rezidor Announces the Radisson Blu Hotel, Chisinau in Moldova

Brussels—The Rezidor Hotel Group, a member of the Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, announced the Radisson Blu Hotel, Chisinau. Chisinau is the capital city of Moldova – the 70th country across Europe, the Middle East and Africa where Rezidor is present. The existing hotel, featuring 145 guestrooms, will be fully renovated before opening under the Radisson Blu flag in 2013. It will be the first internationally branded hotel in Chisinau.
“We are delighted to arrive in Moldova where we see promising business opportunities. The country is emerging from a period of transition to a market economy with a private sector that is now carrying over 70% of the GDP”, said Kurt Ritter, president and chief executive officer of Rezidor, in an announcement. The local infrastructure of Moldova is on its way to be modernized supported by major foreign direct investments. Chisinau is the capital and the most economically-developed city of the country. The city’s economy is mainly centered on the secondary and tertiary sector which will drive hotel demand.
The Radisson Blu Hotel, Chisinau will offer 145 rooms and suites (all of them including Radisson Blu signature services such as free high speed internet access), one restaurant, two bars, and a wellness center.
