Embassy Suites Salt Lake – West Valley City Celebrates Topping Out
8/2/2012
McLean, Va.—Embassy Suites Hotels announced today the “topping out” of Embassy Suites Salt Lake – West Valley City, signifying that the project has reached its maximum height and the structural framework is complete. Developed by West Valley Lodging Initiatives, LLC, the 162-suite, seven-story hotel is part of a multi-million dollar, multi-phase revitalization project in downtown West Valley City and will be the first Embassy Suites in the state to feature the brand’s latest design concept, Design Option III. It is scheduled to open in December 2012 and construction on the project began in October 2011.
“We’re thrilled to partner with West Valley Lodging Initiatives on their first Embassy Suites property and to continue to grow our relationship with Renascent Hospitality, who has developed and manages multiple Hilton Worldwide properties,” said Jim Holthouser, global head of Embassy Suites Hotels and Full Service Brands, Hilton Worldwide, in an announcement. “It’s an honor to be at the center of the city’s revitalization project. Embassy Suites will provide a quality offering for business and leisure travelers for years to come.”
Embassy Suites Salt Lake – West Valley City is being constructed in the brand’s Design Option III style, which decreases the amount of land needed and creates efficiencies for both construction and operational costs. The design features a variety of side-by-side suites, shotgun suites and one-room suites, in addition to an atrium area. West Valley Lodging Initiatives (WVLI)’s partner, Renascent Hospitality, will manage the property; Taylor International, Inc. is the general contractor and provides construction management and Trans-Marketing Group, Inc. provides logistics and purchasing services for the hotel.
The hotel will feature amenities including free cooked-to-order breakfast each morning, a complimentary two-hour Manager’s Reception each evening, two-room suites with a separate living area, private bedroom and wet bar fitted with a microwave, refrigerator, and sink. Suites will also be equipped with two 42” LED/LEC high-definition televisions. The property will also offer 7,500 square feet of meeting space, a complimentary Business Center, an indoor saline pool, spa, and fitness center. It will have a Shula’s Steak House as an on-site dining option for guests and Fairbourne Station visitors.
