Blue Moon Hotel Reopens After Eight Month Restoration
8/9/2012
MIAMI BEACH, Fla.—Blue Moon Hotel in Miami's South Beach reopened on August 1 following an eight month full restoration. The 75-room hotel is operated by Urgo Hotels.
Blue Moon Hotel, a composite of two former hotels – the Lafayette and Les Suites - is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. On February 2012 the property joined just 33 other properties as part of the Marriott International’s celebrated Autograph Collection. The hotel's redesign includes themes of water throughout.
Under the creative direction of Edge of Architecture, the newly enhanced hotel offers three types of accommodations featuring renovated bathrooms and updated technology and furnishings. Each room uses a color palette of cool earth tones and a collection of blue hues. Rooms also contain saddle leather-stitched seating, white linens, and workspace desks.
Also unveiling, is the hotel’s new restaurant concept FIX, which will be helmed by Chef David Welch. FIX will be responsible for all of the hotels food and beverage operations. FIX will also offer late night fare with a full bar featuring an ever-changing selection of craft beers and cocktails. READER COMMENTS
