The Ark Launches Live Webcam
Temperatures this week in the Northeastern part of the United States have been brutal. We've been battling below-freezing weather for four days now, so our minds are drifting to warmer climates and destinations—like Africa.
And not only are the highs near 80 degrees an attractive reason to escape to Aberdare National Park in Kenya, but a particular lodging destination called The Ark is making us even more ready to hop on a plane and take that long (and probably expensive) flight overseas.
The unique property, modeled after Noah's Ark, just launched a live webcam that delivers footage from the property's floodlit watering hole and salt lick. This watering hole attracts all kinds of animals including elephants, buffalos, impalas, and rhinos. Now, anyone can experience the view from the Ark's deck without making the trip to Kenya. When we checked out it, there were plenty of elephants and other animals mingling on the screen.
And while we certainly think this is cool—and will probably spend the next few hours watching the elephants mull around—the real thing is probably a pretty spectacular experience. This webcam might just convince world travelers to make a stop at The Ark in the future.
