Sofitel So Singapore to Get Lagerfeld Touch
 What do you do when you want to take your hotel's branding to the next level? You commission fashion icon Karl Lagerfeld, who most notably served as head designer and creative director for Chanel, to create an emblem to represent the property.
That's exactly what Sofitel So Singapore has done to bring attention to the 134-room property located in the center of the bustling city. The former telecommunications and postal building, owned by Royal Group Holdings, is currently under construction and will open as a new addition to the Sofitel SO portfolio in mid-2013.
The Lagerfeld-designed emblem will symbolise the hotel's new style and appear on a range of exclusive objects available for clients during their stays.
"I am very proud to announce this inspirational collaboration, which is a perfect illustration of Sofitel Luxury Hotels' ambitions with regard to excellence and elegance. His exceptional creativity and talent will confer on our emblem the ultimate touch of refinement and enhance our concept," said Robert Gaymer-Jones, CEO of Sofitel Luxury.
Sofitel's new SO hotels feature the signature of an international designer from the worlds of fashion or art. Kenzo Takada provided design direction for the Sofitel So Mauritius, while Christian Lacroix added his touch to the Sofitel So Bangkok.
Sofitel So Singapore is the third addition globally to Sofitel So's expanding portfolio, while other hotels are currently under way in Mumbai, Rio, and Sydney.
