Homewood Suites Celebrates 35,000th Suite Milestone
This month, Homewood Suites, Hilton's all-suite, upscale brand hit a pretty impressive milestone with the opening of its Homewood Suites by Hilton Orlando Airport hotel. The hotel includes the brand's 35,000th suite and a number like that is cause to celebrate.
To mark the event, the hotel rewarded guests with special check-in gifts, but one lucky guest was given a major reward for checking into the milestone suite. Guest Ken Pope was given an upgraded room complete with a full stocked refrigerator and take home gifts such as a Homewood Suites bedding package and robe, 350,000 Hilton HHonors points, one-year subscription to USA Today, and an iPad with Retina Display. Pope also had the chance to meet the brand's mascot Lewis the Duck.
“Opening our 35,000th suite not only signifies a statistical achievement for Homewood Suites, but demonstrates our brand’s success in appealing to both business and leisure travel guests, hotel owners and developers,” said Bill Duncan, global head, Homewood Suites by Hilton. “Demand for extended-stay hotels is strong as travelers continue to look for value, and we believe this factor along with new design standards and guest experience initiatives will help Homewood Suites achieve many more milestones.”
Creating 31 permanent jobs, the 4-story, 128-suite Orlando hotel is owned by McKibbon Hotel Group Orlando Gateway HM LP and managed by McKibbon Hotel Management Inc. The hotel offers complimentary Wi-Fi, a fitness center, outdoor pool and sport court, 24-hour executive business center, and approximately 760 square feet of meeting space.
